Corona surface treatment is a surface treatment technology that modifies the surface of treatment substrates such as plastic films, paper, and metal foils by irradiating them with corona discharge.
When high-frequency, high-voltage waves emitted from a high-frequency power supply are applied between the electrodes and treatment rolls of the treatment station, corona discharge occurs.
The treatment substrate is subjected to corona treatment as it passes under this discharge, generally improving wettability (wetting tension), and simultaneously significantly improving printing characteristics, coating characteristics, and bonding characteristics.

The basics of static electricity countermeasures include grounding metal objects, grounding workers, and making insulating materials conductive. For insulating materials that cannot be made conductive, static electricity countermeasures include suppressing static electricity generation through humidification and static elimination using ionizers. In the case of static electricity countermeasures for insulating materials, it is difficult to completely prevent static electricity generation through humidification, and excessive humidification can accelerate equipment deterioration or lead to a decrease in product quality. Ionizers, which are less affected by the environment and provide continuous effectiveness, are effective for insulating materials and are used in a wide range of locations. Ionizers are also sometimes called static electricity removal devices, static eliminators, or ionizers.
